Is Kevin Huizenga one of the best cartoonists out there or what? I'm not sure that anyone else out there captures the largest part of the U.S., that suburban sprawl strip mall kind of world, like he does. Kevin's concerned not only with what's going on in his own head but what's going on around him. He's not so busy staring at his own shoes that he doesn't notice that giant flock of starlings overhead. I've been thinking about Kevin's comics alot lately after spending most of the summer working on his forthcoming (any day now, I swear) graphic novel story collection, Curses. It's pretty amazing how all his seemingly unrelated stories from the past five years or so tie together so well.
