Here is why it is awesome to live in Montreal--you can walk down the street and see Arcade Fire and Wolf Parade riding their bikes in circles and then walk into a bar and see Brian Chippendale and Julie Doucet celebrating the release of their new books, Ninja and Elle-Humour, at Zoobizarre (6388 St. Hubert, Montreal). The book signing is on Wednesday, November 15th from 7 to 9pm and at 10pm Brian's solo act, Black Pus, will play, along with Yomul Yuk (who are my favorite Montreal band.)
Please note that I cannot guarantee that you will actually see Arcade Fire and Wolf Parade riding their bikes on your way to this show. Still it will be a good show. These are the latest two books by art comics titan Picture Box and everything they do looks great. Also, Picture Box chief Dan Nadel will be there but that's not so much an attraction as a sort of bonus feature of the entire evening.
