Today we received part two of Lynda Barry's next book, What It Is. It's a mind-boggingly gorgeous text companion to a writing and drawing workshop she hosts 2 or 3 times a year throughout the United States (a small part of it was excerpted in our recent Free Comic Book Day comic). The book, a combination of intricate collages and a narrative hand-drawn on yellow, lined writing paper, is also more or less an extension of her short story, "Two Questions" (one of my favorite comics in McSweeney's volume 13). What It Is will be out next May, the first of many books that D+Q will be publishing by this legendary writer and artist.
