Who is this Doug Wright fellow?

We just got a big batch of Doug Wright artwork in from Seth the other day and I can't stop looking at it. Seriously, I'm falling behind on work because of this pile of artwork.

This is my favorite piece (at least today.) I'm not even totally sure what's going on here. I imagine there was a caption but it looks like the one guy is trying to finish up his Christmas card addressing before he can go somewhere with his buddies. But the details just blow my mind: that cat in the window, the coffeepot, the staircase railing in the background, the way the one fellow holds his hat expectantly, the starbursts on the trashcan. And just perfect, loose, nib line after nib line. I've mentioned before I have a romantic notion of the fifties/sixties professional cartoonist era and Doug Wright is my new ideal.
