Well, it's always exciting when one of our cartoonists wins a prize, but it's even more exciting naturally when that prize comes with actual prize money! Congratulations are in order to Anders, as BIG QUESTIONS won the 2012 Lynd Ward Graphic Novel Prize awarded by the Pennsylvania Center for the Book at Penn State. Couldn't have been awarded to a more deserving, talented cartoonist. The fact that a graphic novel as singular as BIG QUESTIONS has so wonderfully found its audience and admirers outside of comics is one of the most rewarding aspects of working at D+Q; a testament to Anders' amazingly gifted and intelligent storytelling and art; and a great reminder on a Friday morning that I work with the best artists in the world.
