Casseroles
There is this thing happening in Quebec right now that is pretty amazing. Every night at 8pm people come out on their porches and bang pots and pans. And then they march into the streets and walk around for an hour or so clanging and banging away. Cars stop and let the crowds pass, elderly people sit on their balconies whacking wooden spoons on pie tins, kids join in with tambourines. It's really quite something. And it's all in protest of something called Bill 78. You can read about it here. It's called "casseroles." {The above image is by Matt Forsythe (Jinchalo, Ojingogo).}
And, a bunch of local cartoonists have put together a virtual cartoon march here.
