TCAF! Debut books and signings and panels, oh my!

This weekend is TCAF, which means the entire D+Q office is packing up and coming to Toronto, and we're bringing a whole lot of authors with us!

We'll have debut books by TCAF Special Guests Lisa Hanawalt, Gilbert Hernandez, Rutu Modan, and Art Spiegelman, as well as brand new paperback editions of Chester Brown's autobio works The Playboy and Paying For It.

Plus, Canadian darlings Marc Bell and Seth will be signing their books at the D+Q table both days.

Lastly, we are bringing a limited quantity of hot-off-the-presses books by Guy Delisle (A User's Guide to Neglectful Parenting), Tom Gauld (You're All Just Jealous of My Jetpack), and John Stanley (Nancy Volume 4).

And finally, what I know you've all been waiting for...

SUNDAY MAY 12, 5 PM TO 8 PM
Rutu Modan’s The Property: Special Presentation
Sunday, May 12, 2013 | 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Miles Nadal Jewish Community Centre, 750 Spadina Ave
NO TICKETS REQUIRED, FIRST-COME, FIRST-SERVED

Rutu Modan is one of the most exciting cartoonists of our generation, which makes this special presentation of The Property something that you should definitely not miss. The Property, Modan’s second major graphic work (and a TCAF debut), is a triumph of storytelling and fine lines. After the death of her son, Regina Segal takes her granddaughter Mica to Warsaw, hoping to reclaim a family property lost during the Second World War. As they get to know modern Warsaw, Regina is forced to recall difficult things about her past, and Mica begins to wonder if maybe their reasons for coming aren’t a little different than her grandmother led her to believe. Presented in partnership with the Miles Nadal Jewish Community Centre and the Israeli Consulate.

Now you have all the tools you need for a magically D+Q weekend, so please! Join us for the tenth anniversary of our beloved festival! It all takes place this weekend, Saturday (May 11, 9 to 5) and Sunday (May 12, 11 to 5) at the Toronto Reference Library (789 Yonge St, just north of Bloor). TCAF is one of the year's/world's/and definitely Canada's best comics festivals! TCAF! TCAF!
