Hey, New Jersey! Chris Ware talks comix at Rutgers-Camden tonight!

We're constantly telling you that an opportunity to hear award-winning cartoonist Chris Ware speak is not to be missed-- it isn't, and here's your chance! Today, Wednesday, January 29th, at 7:30 pm, Chris Ware will be at Rutgers-Camden's Campus Center, presenting a lecture that is free and open to the public.

Chris Ware's visit is part of Rutgers's celebrated Writers in Camden series. I love that graphic novels are being taught more and more often in colleges and universities; either in their own courses or alongside more traditional prose texts across all disciplines. And I can't imagine a more eloquent voice on the subject of literary graphic novels than the one you'll hear tonight. Plus! There's another comics tie-in: Rutgers is simultaneously hosting an exhibit on the graphic novel, with artwork from Julie Doucet, Justin Green, Carol Tyler, and many more influential cartoonists.

The talk is happening in the Campus Center's Multi-Purpose Room-- that's on Third Street, between Cooper Street and the Benjamin Franklin Bridge. A reception will follow and Chris Ware’s books will be available to purchase and for him to sign (!!!) Here are the full event details on Rutgers-Camden's site.
